About Sarah

Sarah, born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, grew up surrounded by yoga, as her father and maternal grandfather were both daily practitioners of Hatha.   She began her own yoga journey in her early 20s with Louise Palmer-Masterton, dabbling in different forms of Hatha, including the 60-hour Foundation training with Kari Knight (British Wheel of Yoga). In 2012, she found Kundalini Yoga and Meditation (as taught by Yogi Bhajan) and knew instantly that it was the path for her! She completed her Level 1 training with I-SKY in 2015 and has enjoyed teaching a weekly class and workshops ever since. In 2017, Sarah travelled to New York to complete Pregnancy Yoga Teacher training with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and Sarah Kamrath.

 

Since discovering Kundalini, Sarah has been blessed to attend trainings and workshops with many world-renowned teachers in the tradition including Gurmukh, Guru Dharam (I-SKY), Guru Shabd, Snatam Kaur, Guru Singh, Ajeet Kaur, Ramdesh Kaur and Benjahmin (I-SKY). In 2018, she began working toward her 500-hour Level 2 certification. 

 

Since Sarah began regular yoga and meditation she has experienced the marked and significant benefits of daily practice to her own wellbeing and the wellbeing of her family. Kundalini Yoga and Meditation is the path of awareness, but for Sarah it has also been a path of great healing. Like so many mothers do, Sarah experienced depression and anxiety after the birth of her second son. Her practice has been integral in providing ways of managing her mental health, building resilience, regulating challenging emotions and improving physical fitness. She is passionate about creating space and opportunity for people of all ages and stages of life to experience this transformational yoga. She is especially passionate about joining with mothers-to-be at the beginning of their journey, providing them with all the tools and knowledge that have been so invaluable to her as a mother. With a degree in cognitive neuroscience, Sarah is also fascinated by the effects yoga has on our brains and nervous system.
